It could be tripod mounted, sledge mounted, or be mounted on the two wheeled Sokolov. It was often given a shield to help preserve the crew. The Maxim had a standard rate of fire of approximately 125 rounds a minute. In Korea, this could assist the KPA as long as they understood the proper use of machine guns during mobile warfare.
