We recently had a staff tasting of the wines of Spain and Portugal and had the opportunity to taste this excellent Madeira

wet clay and crushed rock aromas are just now starting to come out of this as it is still a baby in its development

The palate offers ripe tannins and kick

and this is nicely struck

with a finishing burst of lime

2014 Tablas Creek "C̫tes de Tablas" Paso Robles Rh̫ne Blend We recently had a staffBright ruby. Mineral accented red fruit liqueur scents are complemented by suggestions of white pepper and candied flowers. Fleshy, seamless and gently sweet on the palate, offering juicy cherry and raspberry flavors underscored by a smoky mineral quality. Shows excellent clarity and spicy lift on the finish, which is given shape by smooth, harmonious tannins. The Grenache component is really showing itself right now. (JR)
