This is the 2nd type OBE awarded from 1936 and is awarded to the present date

Awarded to all full-time members of the armed forces wherever their service was rendered provided it was of 28 days or more duration

Instituted in 1962 to replace the separate Naval GSM & RAF/ARMY GSM

Why is it called the Death Penny

Awarded to those who served in South Africa during 1901 and 1902

GSM Brunei Clasp Category_Campaign Medals This is the 2nd typeAwarded to RAF personnel and some members of the Army (mainly Royal Engineers and attached personnel) also Royal Navy personnel were awarded it for patrolling the no fly zones and airfield repair in Iraq. This is the BAR ONLY and is supplied ready to be fitted to a General Service Medal 1962 onwards. Please note that fitting of these clasps requires specialist equipment.
