There is an extraordinary chypre and warm earth note about this wine which leads the way and the fruit follows on minutes behind dutifully allowing the vine and its wood and earth to take centre stage

Scorpo Pinot Noir 2016 Blanc de Blancs Drink to 2051Outstanding young pinot scented with a floral perfume and faintly mineral aromas of blood plums, red cherries, cinnamon and a hint of citrus oil. Unctuous and not lacking viscosity, its long and generous, with a fine, firmish and faintly gravelly spine of drying, powdery tannins. It extends with shape and style towards a lingering finish of sour black cherries and raspberries. Very stylish. Jeremy Oliver
