On creature-heavy decks you should run fewer board wipes because you dont want to clear your own board too often (about 2-3 seem enough, unless they are one-sided where you can add more without hurting your own strategy) while on creature-light decks you need more (about 4-5 is a good number)
The strategy here revolves largely around the Madam Mim and Merlin characters, and bouncing those characters back into your hand to gain strategic advantage, additional cards, and lore
This seems like it would be a lot of fun to build around in Commander, except there aren't a load of Griffins in existence to choose from
If that spell would be put into a graveyard, exile it instead
