Main drawbacks to this deck is it's weak against prolonged control/removal and it doesn't have a huge amount of answers for flyers but you can let your life total get fairly low thanks to Soulfire Grand Master & Mortal's Ardor and to be honest as long as you have two of the redirect creatures out one Blasphemous Act is usually all you need
Swiftfoot Boots came around after Wizards had begun distancing themselves from the Shroud keyword, electing for a replacement that is more one-sided in its protection through Hexproof
Even more important is that when cast during your first main phase, the card gives you an additional combat phase and untaps all of your creatures when attacking, acting as a form of vigilance but ensuring you can get two full swings in across your two combat phases
This helps overcome that by letting you put a Young Hero Role on something, and while its not the most amazing of the Roles, since it requires the creature to be small to get a buff from it, it does mean the Veteran can significantly augment your creatures in some situations Each thing this does individually isnt that impressive but getting them all for three mana seems like a decent enough deal, especially if youre in the market for fixing
