The thing is, Im not interested in playing this as a companion

Im playing every card I want to play, it just happens that many of them are commons and uncommons

For the most part, the first copy is automatically better than a basic land of the same color, and the seconds not awful if your land count is decently high

This way, Eerie Interlude provides value regardless if your opponent has a wrath or removal spell

Granted, Liliana of the Veil was one of those cards we had all assumed would show up, but its still great to see her back

Also, as someone who has a soft-spot for this card, I think the actual play patterns of the card do not really end up being as oppressive as the land-targeting text suggests
