Roles are colorless Aura enchantment tokens that can give positive (or negative) abilities to a creature
It's still a reasonable card for Commander since you have all the tools to accelerate this out early, even if defending the initiative is harder in multiplayer
A question that Gerry Thompson once asked me still resonates with me to this day: "How many converted mana cost (mana value) 3 or higher creatures have impacted recent Standard without having some form of immediate effect on the game?" The list is a lot shorter than I would have guessed

Situations where you want to play one half dont correspond to situations where you want to play the other half, and given the raw power of the card, this case is more of a choice than a logical progression
I think this is so far the most fun colorless land in the set, and if you had some way to get it back from your graveyard after sacrificing it, this could be a real menace of a card
