Bird Blue is based on a crow or rook and made in a black stoneware clay

heavily eroded by the elements over time

I made this piece to be exhibited at the Sculpture In Context annual exhibition at The Botanic Gardens in Dublin

We had no car and it was quite a distance to the shop

Soma (Yellow) Barra Cassidy Art Bird Blue is based onIn the Vedic scriptures ( the oldest religious scriptures known) they refer to Soma as God or a God. It was a hallucinogenic mushroom that they consumed. There where no images of Soma in the sanskrit so I decided to make a totem like symbol to represent them.
