This is an initial ring with an applied gold letter J, set on a rich black onyx panel. The ring has decorative engraved shoulders and stone setting and a smooth polished band at the back, a very detailed piece in rich rosey 9ct gold. This style was popular towards the end of the 19th century and through the Edwardian era. It is marked 9ct on the inner band. Late Victorian era, English make.
