It has a rectangular footplate or treadThe triangular sides of the stirrup have koftgari inlaid gold coloured wire decoration in the form of a cypress tree with geometric patterns around it and silver coloured spots

There are two small dings to the silver near the join

It also has two small gilt knops with cast foliate decoration along its length

The collar is decorated in relief with a greyhound or other sight houndThe long slim stock or shaft is made of red brown malacca cane with its distinctive teardrop shaped cross section

One cheek of the bit is stamped with a crown & "VR" and the maker's or retailer's stamp "Long"

There would have been silver button on the heel of the staghorn but this has been lost. It has a silver collar which is stamped "Swaine" and hallmarked London 1922. The collar is engraved "A. R D" . There are dents across the engraving. The stock or shaft is covered in brown braided leather. It has a stitched leather keeper and a pale braided leather thong with knot at its end.
