A Scots Guards Officers Horse Bit - Bit1003 snaffle keeper 4¼" (10This early 20th century military curb bit has a low port. It is made of steel which is plated in nickel or chrome there is some wear to the plating on the mouthpiece and the insides of the cheeks. The cheeks are curved, each bears a rein loop, there is no shackle bar. The bit has its original curb hooks and chain. There is a brass badge on each side of the bit. These are cast as a St Andrew's cross over a star with a central silver coloured thistle.
