The festoon at the bottom of the necklace is adorned with real preserved Scarab beetles, they have a rich dark metallic green sheen and are claw set into white metal mounts. The necklace is made from white metal with a fine belcher link and a barrel clasp. It is not silver, likely silver plated steel. The Art Deco era saw a resurgence of the popular Egyptian revival theme that was seen in the
