It is has a delicate crazing pattern throughout; not to be confused with cracks, this is a phenomenon that occurs in some ceramics where an intricate spider web like design appears overtime in the glaze of a piece of pottery. This jar still boasts its original chemist label with the phone number 285, indicating that it is from or before 1905 as 4 digit phone numbers were introduced
