It is basically triangular in shape but has been bent on one side. There is a suspension bar at the top with a cover plate in front of it. The cover plate has a serrated edge on top and is scallopped on its lower edge. The oval tread is slightly convex with a central hole. The metal has a dark aged patina. There is a museum or collection number painted on the back of the cover plate :
