If that player has somehow become an illegal target for the ability as it tries to resolve, the ability does nothing
The best part about this card is that the attack is very cheap, costing only two Lightning Energy, which makes it perfect during the early to mid game
I also grabbed the final card for a 3-card illustration set
We're saving a2a-13-heatran from the opponent's attacker and then we can use a2-154-dawn to move a Fire Energy to a2-29-infernape-ex to go for a Flare Blitz attack

This is the omen where the dragon excites me least, but even then, its a good on-rate dragon with a strong ward effect, so there's no problem casting Scavenger Regent on turn 4 either
