New Standard sets see volatile price swings in the first month as the metagame develops and speculators flood the market, making EV calculations unreliable until 6+ weeks after release when prices stabilise
They can mix and match and the length always works out
I like to cover cards equally among rarities when ranking, but that won't be the case with this set
With regards to the colorless ramp, I've been in siduations where rakdos himself keeps getting removed from the board, so as much as I'd like to swap it for colored mana, I'd prefer to have the 99 self sufficient in my playgroup
