Combining the Druid with Vizier of Remedies makes it so those -1/-1 counters dont stick, letting you add as many as you like, effectively giving you infinite mana
Mechanics like flashback and disturb that allow a card to be played from the graveyard mitigate the effect of discard, but dont circumvent it entirely
