If your lands are never going to untap, there's little harm in sacrificing them and turning each land into two mana makes the upkeep on Stasis maintainable on a permanent basis
Their favorite artist is Tomokazu Komiya, so they picked up an Alolan Vulpix (my go-to Pokmon in Pokmon Unite) illustrated by Komiya, as well as Plusle and Minun because the duo is just too cute
The additional layer of being an instant and adding two cards to your graveyard to give you additional options is pretty cool though
