This style was used for Showcase creatures, but it shone the brightest when used for the full-art lands in the set, of which this Plains from Magali Villeneuve is the clear highlight
Between powerful (and, at the time of writing, expensive) reprints, some really solid additions to the tribe like tomb Tyrant and Hordewing Skaab, and some crazy powerful entries to the format at large (heres looking at you, Eloise, Nephalia Sleuth and Drown in Dreams), it really seems like Wizards really knocked it out of the park
That makes it one of the most explosive mana dorks in Magic, though a $100+ price tag means you dont see it at tables too often
The second reason is more aggressive
Ajani, Strength of the Pride is one of the better Ajani planeswalker cards, and a fantastic top-end piece for decks that plan to gain a bunch of life
I love this in a few places
