His card starts out as a simple looter, but get 14 cards into your graveyard (get it?) and he flips into Hades, a mighty avatar that lets you play cards from the bin
With that, you can have a character with a large lore, hit it with a lucky dime twice, and then have it quest for a total gain of three times its value
The card could also have been viewed as a simple "goodie" for visitors to D23 not accustomed to TCGs and card certification
