Generally 3-cards or 4-cards were thought to be inconsistent, but D/D had multiple combinations that could work and could setup the most powerful opening board in the OCG 2016.04 format
The only time I'd cast from hand is if I needed to cast to keep from discarding or I needed something like a Vindicate to answer a massive problem that my foe has without the answer in my graveyard
