The black and white photo that inspired it depicted her leaning against a beachs railings, basking in the suns gentle warmth. The day before I started work on the portrait, my eye was caught by poppy seed pods in the garden. Here I envision them as surreal night lights illuminating the boardwalk, a symbol of the beauty of youth and its fleeting nature. Framing suggestion:
