This drypoint was inspired fly the boats pulled up on the single at Hastings. This image had to be drawn back to front to get the lift up the cliff the right way round, Drypoint prints are created by drawing & scratching with a pointed metal implement, on a metal plate which was then inked, so that ink remains in the crevices and allowing the untouched area to be wiped clean by a smooth cloth.
