An important desert pollinator, they have a unique relationship with the saguaro cactus. This iconic cactus blooms for just one night to attract the lesser long nosed bats which use their "long nose" to reach into the saguaro flower blossoms for nectar. Their hairy heads get covered with pollen that they take flower to flower as they fly from cactus to cactus throughout the night. The
