Sport Coupe 1966-early 1972 - non AC copper heater cores

It has a short glove box liner because the expansion valve is located behind it and there is a separate glove box located in the bezel

The 8 cylinder is a shorter block and the radiator is positioned on the engine side of the core support with the top connection coming out of the center of the radiator

One contributing factor is decreased flow through a clogged and dirty cell style core

should the system pressure exceed the cap’s rating

Since the mid seventies, we have built radiators this way. Apparently, there exist radiator shells that have a neck hole further forward toward the bumper. If you have one of these you should order a radiator with the neck placed in an alternative location.
